Sex Therapy

Explore the intricacies of intimacy and sexuality.

What is Sex Therapy?

Sexuality is a complex interplay of biological and psychological factors, with a person's physical and mental well-being serving as interconnected foundations of sexual health. Sex therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that addresses a broad range of sexual concerns, intimacy issues, and relational dynamics. As an AASECT certified sex therapist, I approach therapy with an understanding that each individual’s experiences with sexuality are shaped by their unique identities and the cultural and systemic contexts in which they live. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space for clients to explore these complexities and work toward greater sexual well-being and fulfillment.

Addressing Diverse Concerns
Sex therapy encompasses various topics, including but not limited to:

  • Low sexual desire or discrepancies in libido

  • Erectile dysfunction or erectile disappointment

  • Genito-pelvic pain and unwanted pain with sex

  • Exploration of kinks, BDSM, fetishes

  • Challenges with arousal or achieving orgasm (anorgasmia)

  • Perinatal and post baby sexuality

  • Perimenopause/Menopause

  • Healing from sexual trauma or abuse

  • Feelings of shame, guilt, or anxiety around sexuality

  • Exploration of gender identity

  • Exploration of sexual and/or romantic orientation

  • Enhancing communication and intimacy within relationships

In our sessions, we collaboratively identify the underlying factors contributing to these challenges, which may include emotional wounds, past experiences, or societal pressures.
